Yesterday we had a company-event in the beatifull city of Haarlem. The capital of the province of North Holland. That's right: not Amsterdam, which is the capital of The Netherlands. We had a nice walk in the city where I saw windmill De Adriaan. And we passed the Gravestenen-bridge. From there we went to the Koepelgevangenis, where we had an interesting tour, with a guard as our tourguide. When walking to the citycenter we passed the Teylers Museum. From all around the city you'll see the St. Bavo-church. One of the most beatifull church buildings in The Netherlands. On the Grote Markt I saw the statue of Laurens Janszoon Coster. And the nice city hall. It was a short trip, but I'm happy with the shots. Enjoy!

This was just a moment. A moment where I wanted to go to the trainstation and cross the bridge. And at that moment, the bridge keeper decided it was the moment to open the bridge.
This time I've recreated a moment from the Steentilstraat 30-32 in Groningen. The first photo was taken somewhere between 1920 and 1930 (Groninger Archief). The second, taken by me, in 2026.
A little project, recreating moments from photographers of the old days. I know it has been done before. But for me it's about learning.
I didn't post something the last few days. But that doesn't mean that I didn't make any photos of course. So here you see a random selection of moments in Groningen. There was a lot going on: Noorderzon 2026 and Bommen Berend/Gronings Ontzet.
What does Gronings Ontzet commemorate?
The relief of Groningen on 28 August 1672, when the city survived the siege by the army of the bishop of Münster. The 2026 edition is the 354th.
Why is it called Bommen Berend?
Bommen Berend is the name Groningen gives the day, after the nickname of the Münster bishop whose siege the city withstood in 1672.
Went to the Noorderzon-festival 2026 edition in the Noorderplantsoen in Groningen again on Sunday. It was less crowded and for kids, it was the best day to play. Off course I took some photo's again. I hope you like them. If you're in the area, you can and must go to Noorderzon untill August 30.
Yesterday (Fri. 21-08-2026) I went to the Noorderzon-festival 2026 edition in the Noorderplantsoen in Groningen. The first edition was in 1991. I volunteered as a bartender for 3 editions and since I moved to Groningen, I attend the festival every year. The atmosphere yesterday was brilliant and friendly overall. I took some photo's and enjoyed what I saw! If you're in the area, you can and must go to Noorderzon untill August 30.
I need some help, please! The Stadspark/Citypark in Groningen celebrates it's first 💯 years. For that they are running a contest for photo's of the park. It's called zoom in/zoom out. Zoom out are 'landscapes' of the park and zoom in, are mushrooms for example. The last 2 days I took a lot of photo's. I've selected a few, but can't decide wether they are any good. Also, the last few days were dreary, so no people. What do you think? Which one(s) do you like best? Please leave it in the comments. It will be much appreciated.

The iconic Martini-tower in Groningen is mostly shot in color nowadays. I liked tot see it in B/W in the late evening. So here you go.
This sunday I took the bus from Groningen to Roden (Drenthe) tot visit my mother. Took some photo's while walking to the central station and while waiting for the bus. Went to the old penal colony in Veenhuizen (Drenthe) with my mum, had a cup of tea there in a lovely garden. Just enjoyed my day with her.
