Went to the Noorderzon-festival 2026 edition in the Noorderplantsoen in Groningen again on Sunday. It was less crowded and for kids, it was the best day to play. Off course I took some photo's again. I hope you like them. If you're in the area, you can and must go to Noorderzon untill August 30.

I just have fun photographing things that catch my eye with my Fujifilm XT-5. Taking pictures of scenes on the streets, while traveling, architecture and landscapes. I just took up photography again when I bought my XT-5 in July 2026. Before that I took pictures with my smartphone. And, way back, I took photo's with an old school camera (Nikon) and real film. Does anyone remember that or am I that old? ;-)
Yesterday (Fri. 21-08-2026) I went to the Noorderzon-festival 2026 edition in the Noorderplantsoen in Groningen. The first edition was in 1991. I volunteered as a bartender for 3 editions and since I moved to Groningen, I attend the festival every year. The atmosphere yesterday was brilliant and friendly overall. I took some photo's and enjoyed what I saw! If you're in the area, you can and must go to Noorderzon untill August 30.
I need some help, please! The Stadspark/Citypark in Groningen celebrates it's first 💯 years. For that they are running a contest for photo's of the park. It's called zoom in/zoom out. Zoom out are 'landscapes' of the park and zoom in, are mushrooms for example. The last 2 days I took a lot of photo's. I've selected a few, but can't decide wether they are any good. Also, the last few days were dreary, so no people. What do you think? Which one(s) do you like best? Please leave it in the comments. It will be much appreciated.

The iconic Martini-tower in Groningen is mostly shot in color nowadays. I liked tot see it in B/W in the late evening. So here you go.
This sunday I took the bus from Groningen to Roden (Drenthe) tot visit my mother. Took some photo's while walking to the central station and while waiting for the bus. Went to the old penal colony in Veenhuizen (Drenthe) with my mum, had a cup of tea there in a lovely garden. Just enjoyed my day with her.

Even though Groningen is a small city, it is the largest in the north, and there is much to see. I walked through the city center and saw the tower of the Der Aa Church in the background through a small street. A beautiful, overgrown old house by the Noorderhaven and the Kijk in 't Jat Bridge with sculptures by sculptor Willem Valk.
'De Oosterpoort' is a building I see every day. It's located near my home in Groningen. It's a music hall fairly well known from Eurosonic Noorderslag.
